OneClinic and GrowthEntry are aiming to reform healthcare logistics in Sweden

Finnish healthcare logistics specialist OneClinic and GrowthEntry, a company specialising in international growth, have signed a cooperation agreement. The companies aim to bring OneClinic’s advanced OC Logistics system to the Swedish market, where there is a pressing need for a modern inventory and logistics management solution.

OneClinic’s first appearance in the Swedish market took place last May at the Vitalis trade fair in Gothenburg. The debut was a success, as interest from potential customers clearly exceeded the company’s expectations. At the same event, OneClinic and GrowthEntry met, and cooperation negotiations began immediately after the fair.
GrowthEntry’s leader, Eero Puikkonen, has worked in Sweden for 30 years, the last 16 of which he has spent guiding Finnish companies into the Swedish market. Although he has helped companies from many different industries, healthcare is the field he knows best and where his expertise is strongest. According to Puikkonen, the timing for OneClinic’s expansion is exceptionally favourable right now.

”There’s no equivalent product available in Sweden, but the need for one is significant. Finnish technology companies have an excellent reputation here, so the doors are open in that respect too,” Puikkonen assesses.

Economic benefit leads the way into Sweden

When targeting the Swedish market, it’s important to understand the local business culture. Puikkonen points out that decision-making in the neighbouring country can sometimes feel slow, as a great deal of attention is paid to risk management and background research. On the other hand, once a foothold has been established there, Sweden also serves as an excellent springboard to other international markets. It’s worth recognising the differences between sales practices in Finland and Sweden.

”The customer doesn’t necessarily want to hear first about what kind of technical solution lies behind the product — they want to hear how it makes money. Fortunately, that side of things is well in order at OneClinic,” Puikkonen states.

The strength of the OC Logistics system lies in its fast payback period. The system brings significant financial and time savings by freeing up healthcare professionals’ working time from logistics for actual client and patient work.

A response to statutory requirements and security of supply

What is currently of particular interest to Swedish healthcare operators is how OC Logistics can solve an acute legislative challenge. Swedish law requires authorities to know at all times exactly how much medicine and care supplies are held in each stock.
OC Logistics brings much-needed transparency to Sweden’s security of supply and crisis resilience. When information on medicine availability is available in real time, the crisis preparedness of society as a whole improves.
