Medanets select­ed for region-wide deploy­ment across North­ern Nor­way

Medanets has signed a region­al agree­ment with Helse Nord, the pub­lic author­i­ty respon­si­ble for spe­cial­ist health­care ser­vices in North­ern Nor­way. The agree­ment enables the use of Medanets mobile solu­tions across the entire region of North­ern Nor­way, extend­ing all the way to Sval­bard. The area cov­ers approx­i­mate­ly 45% of Norway’s total area and serves near­ly half a mil­lion res­i­dents.

The solu­tion inte­grates with the exist­ing sys­tems used in the region, com­ple­ment­ing them with mobile work­flows. It enables health­care pro­fes­sion­als to access up-to-date patient infor­ma­tion and doc­u­ment patient data direct­ly at the point of care using mobile devices.

Helse Nord is respon­si­ble for spe­cial­ist health­care ser­vices in the coun­ties of Nord­land, Troms and Finn­mark, as well as Sval­bard. It oper­ates in one of Europe’s most geo­graph­i­cal­ly chal­leng­ing health­care envi­ron­ments, where long dis­tances, a dis­persed hos­pi­tal net­work and arc­tic con­di­tions place unique demands on infor­ma­tion access and effi­cient clin­i­cal work­flows. One of the region’s key health­care providers is the Uni­ver­si­ty Hos­pi­tal of North Nor­way (UNN) in Trom­sø, recog­nised as the world’s north­ern­most uni­ver­si­ty hos­pi­tal.

Medanets already has a long his­to­ry in North­ern Nor­way. The company’s mobile solu­tion has been in use in the Nord­land hos­pi­tal group (Nord­landssyke­huset) since 2020, and the solu­tion has been con­tin­u­ous­ly devel­oped in close col­lab­o­ra­tion with local clin­i­cians. The new­ly signed agree­ment now enables proven work­flows and best prac­tices to be expand­ed through­out the entire Helse Nord region. The solu­tion will be tak­en into use in the whole region dur­ing the end of 2026 and begin­ning of 2027.

It will quick­ly pro­vide us with bet­ter sup­port for safe and effi­cient med­ica­tion admin­is­tra­tion, allow­ing health­care pro­fes­sion­als to access rel­e­vant infor­ma­tion and doc­u­ment med­ica­tion admin­is­tra­tion direct­ly at the patient’s bed­side. This will improve work­flows, reduce dupli­cate data entry, and enhance both qual­i­ty of care and patient safe­ty”, says Bengt Nils­fors, Head of Dig­i­tal­iza­tion and ICT, North­ern Nor­way Region­al Health Author­i­ty.

The agree­ment strength­ens Medanets’ posi­tion in the Nor­we­gian mar­ket and sup­ports the company’s inter­na­tion­al growth. Medanets solu­tions are already wide­ly used across Fin­land, Swe­den, Nor­way and the Unit­ed King­dom, and the com­pa­ny has recent­ly expand­ed into new inter­na­tion­al mar­kets, such as Ger­many.
