Heart Hos­pi­tal stream­lines the logis­tics of health­care mate­ri­als with a new sys­tem – suc­cess­ful imple­men­ta­tion

OneClin­ic and Heart Hos­pi­tal signed the pro­cure­ment con­tract in the sum­mer of 2025, and the OC Logis­tics sys­tem was suc­cess­ful­ly deployed to pro­duc­tion at the hos­pi­tal the fol­low­ing win­ter.

Ser­vice Man­ag­er Mikko Ihat­su from Heart Hospital’s pro­cure­ment, logis­tics, and instru­ment care ser­vices says he is very sat­is­fied with the project’s out­come.
“The imple­men­ta­tion went well, even though the sched­ule was tight. We are par­tic­u­lar­ly pleased with how the inte­gra­tion of OC Logis­tics with our own Coralia ERP sys­tem works,” he states. “At Heart Hos­pi­tal – in both car­di­ol­o­gy and car­diac surgery – data trans­fer between sys­tems must work seam­less­ly: even minor dis­rup­tions can quick­ly com­pli­cate dai­ly oper­a­tions.”

A hos­pi­tal spe­cial­ized in car­diac care

As its name implies, Heart Hos­pi­tal spe­cial­izes in car­diac care. The hos­pi­tal is owned by the well­be­ing ser­vice coun­ties of Pirkan­maa, Cen­tral Fin­land, and Kan­ta-Häme. Its loca­tions are in Tam­pere, Jyväskylä, Hämeen­lin­na, Riihimä­ki, and Valkeakos­ki. The hos­pi­tal employs over 700 pro­fes­sion­als in car­di­ol­o­gy and car­diac and tho­racic surgery.

OC Logis­tics was imple­ment­ed at Heart Hos­pi­tal at the Tam­pere Uni­ver­si­ty Hos­pi­tal, as well as the Heart Hos­pi­tal loca­tions in Jyväskylä and Hämeen­lin­na. The sys­tem is used to man­age the order-deliv­ery chains and inven­to­ries of spe­cial health­care mate­ri­als used in car­diac pro­ce­dures.

“The new sys­tem is used by about twen­ty peo­ple from logis­tics and pro­cure­ment. In addi­tion, some of the nurs­ing staff inter­act with it, per­haps even with­out know­ing it – through the inte­gra­tion,” Ihat­su explains.

OneClinic’s CEO, Veli-Mat­ti Pietilä, sees Heart Hospital’s posi­tion in the company’s rapid­ly grow­ing cus­tomer base as very sig­nif­i­cant. “Coop­er­a­tion with Heart Hos­pi­tal has been excel­lent from the very begin­ning. It is great to see how well our sys­tem suits also Heart Hospital’s needs,” Pietilä states.
