Dis­cov­er the Pol­ish Pri­vate Health­care Mar­ket – with its rapid growth and oppor­tu­ni­ties, online

The pri­vate sec­tor is play­ing an increas­ing­ly impor­tant role in Poland’s health­care sys­tem, cov­er­ing 20–40% of the hos­pi­tal mar­ket. In 2023, the val­ue of pri­vate health­care ser­vices reached approx­i­mate­ly €12.3 bil­lion, rep­re­sent­ing near­ly 40% of the total health­care mar­ket.

An aging pop­u­la­tion is dri­ving demand for health­care ser­vices. By 2029, over 25% of Poles will be of retire­ment age, and with­in the next 20 years, a sig­nif­i­cant share of the work­force will be over 55. Pri­vate hos­pi­tals are respond­ing with greater flex­i­bil­i­ty, expand­ing one-day hos­pi­tal­iza­tions and out­pa­tient care to bet­ter meet patient needs.

The pri­vate health insur­ance seg­ment is expe­ri­enc­ing par­tic­u­lar­ly strong growth. In 2023, its mar­ket val­ue rose by more than 33% year-on-year, out­pac­ing the broad­er pri­vate health­care mar­ket. Sub­scrip­tions and insur­ance plans offered as employ­ee ben­e­fits remain pop­u­lar, with around 14% of adults using pri­vate health­care through these pro­grams.

Look­ing ahead, the mar­ket out­look is promis­ing. Increased invest­ments from insur­ers, com­bined with ris­ing patient expec­ta­tions, are expect­ed to fur­ther dri­ve growth in Poland’s pri­vate health­care sec­tor.
