Icelandic and Finnish healthtech companies — start-ups and established enterprises alike — are invited to participate in the 2025 edition of the Canadian Healthcare Market Access Program (CMAP) run in partnership with Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (NLHS), Business Iceland, and Business Finland North America.

The main goal of the program is to provide companies with tools and insight to strengthen their commercialization and R&D/validation strategy into the Canadian market.

The info webinar will introduce Icelandic and Finnish healthtech companies to the Canadian Healthcare Market Access Program (CMAP) and to the Canadian healthcare system. The introduction to the CMAP will cover its key intervenors, structure, content, cost, and intended outcomes. Among the intervenors to be introduced will be core partner health authority: Newfoundland & Labrador Health Services (NLHS). NLHS representatives will discuss their mandate and share their approach to improving health services through innovation. They will also highlight key areas within their system where they see great potential for new solutions. The session will then turn to an in-depth overview of Canada’s healthcare system. This will include a presentation on the role of provinces, regional health authorities, hospitals and clinics in delivering health services; the role of the private sector in Canada; and core challenges being faced by provincial and territorial health authorities in delivering primary care services in both urban and rural/remote settings. Opportunities for Q&A will be provided throughout.
