Detec­tion Tech­nol­o­gy com­mer­cial­izes AIDA, a scal­able all‑in‑one CT detec­tor

Detec­tion Tech­nol­o­gy, a glob­al leader in X‑ray detec­tor solu­tions has announced the com­mer­cial avail­abil­i­ty of AIDA, its pio­neer­ing all-in-one CT detec­tor sys­tem. Fol­low­ing suc­cess­ful cus­tomer eval­u­a­tions, AIDA is now ready for full-scale deploy­ment across rotat­ing and sta­t­ic CT, and future-proofed for pho­ton-count­ing CT (PCCT) sys­tems.

AIDA is designed as a scal­able hardware–software plat­form that adapts seam­less­ly to dif­fer­ent CT archi­tec­tures and per­for­mance require­ments. By inte­grat­ing detec­tor mod­ules, data com­bin­er boards, data con­trol boards, opti­mized slip-ring inter­faces, and Detec­tion Technology’s pro­pri­etary API, com­pat­i­ble with the GigE Vision pro­to­col, into a uni­fied sys­tem, AIDA sim­pli­fies sys­tem design while enabling excep­tion­al data per­for­mance.

The plat­form man­ages data at rates of tens of giga­bits per sec­ond with­in a sin­gle CT rota­tion and sup­ports scal­able through­put extend­ing toward hun­dreds of giga­bits per sec­ond. This archi­tec­ture enables wider imag­ing cov­er­age, faster view times, improved tem­po­ral res­o­lu­tion, and enhanced mate­r­i­al discrimination—providing a strong foun­da­tion for both con­ven­tion­al CT and next-gen­er­a­tion PCCT solu­tions.

The mod­u­lar design reduces sys­tem com­plex­i­ty, min­i­mizes inter­faces, stream­lines sup­ply chains, and short­ens time-to-mar­ket, while ensur­ing scal­a­bil­i­ty for evolv­ing imag­ing require­ments in med­ical, secu­ri­ty, and indus­tri­al appli­ca­tions.
