ProWellness Health Solutions and Jubilee Health Insurance Ltd are conducting a pilot to improve diabetes care in Kenya and to test market readiness for automated digitalized remote care services.
Diabetes is an increasing problem in East Africa and causes severe health problems. Up to 80% of the costs of diabetes care are caused by diabetes complications and comorbidities. This could be prevented to a large degree by proactive and preventive self-care.
During the pilot, medical centres and patients covered by Jubilee Health Insurance will leverage ProWellness’ Balansio system through personalised digitalized self- care.
Balansio is a mobile, AI-enabled assisted self-care system for individuals with chronic conditions, under the guidance of health care professionals. Balansio incorporates automated 24/7 nurse-bots and clinical intelligence and brings services of a diabetes clinic directly to patients’ smartphones, independent of time and place.
Jubilee Health Insurance Ltd is the largest and the No.1 Medical Insurer in East Africa, which provides medical cover to individuals and the region’s blue-chip companies. The company provides first-class, tailor-made health insurance products to suit individual and corporate needs, from inpatient, outpatient, maternity, dental, and optical to scheme administration.
