OuluHealth and Oulu-based health companies mark their presence at Medica 2019

Once again, OuluHealth arrived in an international business hotspot to take part in Medica 2019, the world’s largest medical sector event. The OuluHealth joint stand was located in hall 15, which was reserved for participants showcasing electromedical equipment and medical technology. This year, the stand hosted eight top health companies and organisations from the Oulu region. Screentec, Kipuwex, Sanmina, Monidor, PrintoCent, Nukute, Goodwiller and Innokas Medical took the opportunity to let the world know about their cutting-edge innovations.

Healthcare and tomorrow’s medical technology brought together

The Medica trade fair holds the reputation of being the largest international medical show to present advanced technology-aided devices. The event took place from 18 to 21 November in Düsseldorf, Germany. According to the organisers, it attracted more than 5,500 exhibitors from 71 countries as well as about 120,000 visitors representing 155 countries – a new record. A wide range of international representatives from the business, research, and political sectors met at this four-day event to share ideas and learn more about the top health innovations. In 2019, Medica proved that the slogan ‘Be Part of the No. 1’ genuinely reflects its vital atmosphere.

Alongside the exhibition, numerous forums and special shows on varied medical-technological topics met with an excellent audience response. Oulu marked its presence especially in the Medica Connected Healthcare Forum’s session on humanized disease on chips – augmenting personalized medicines. Prateek Singh from Oulu’s Finnadvance gave insights on the chip technology his company develops that are based on microfluidics used to examine factors related to the formation of vascular structures and to test drugs.

Medica is undoubtedly the place to be for health companies from around the globe to network with healthcare professionals and let them know about their innovative solutions. It also offers an opportunity to establish contacts with investors and experience tomorrow’s healthcare market live.

‘Our expectations were fulfilled very well. Our main targets include finding new distributors and we met a few potential ones at Medica this year.  Also, trials were agreed with 2 hospitals,’ says Mikko Savola, CEO at Monidor.

A walk through the halls at Medica 2019 provided its participants with new information on current trends in the health sector and a chance to see for themselves the innovations that will shape the future of healthcare.

The next Medica trade fair will be held in Düsseldorf from 16 to 19 November, 2020.
