Kipuwex exhibits at Silicon Valley as the only representative from Finland

Oulu-based Kipuwex was the only company from Finland selected to exhibit at the Startup Grind Global 2020 Conference in Silicon Valley.

This conference is one of the most important events for startups, tech leaders, and big brands at the forefront of innovation. It was held on 11 and 12 February 2020 and it gathered more than 10,000 founders, executives, and innovators from around the globe. Kipuwex took its place among 300 companies selected from the pool of 4000 applications.

This year, Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (RB), a British multinational producer of health, hygiene and home products, organized the Innovation Hack as part of the Startup Grind Global 2020 and invited 15 innovative companies to join it. Marko Höynälä, CEO at Kipuwex, was one of the hack participants.

The RB Innovation Hack aims at startups/entrepreneurs and challenges them to create purpose-led solutions to tackle global health problems. After intense 24 hours three teams came up with a consumer solution, which they next pitched to a judging panel in front of a live audience. The winning team turned out to be the one in which Marko/Kipuwex was a member. The winners received a commitment from R&D to explore how to potentially bring the winning idea to life and eventually into market.

Kipuwex is an IoT Device for Continuous Care and Pain Assessment. The solution measures nine different physiological parameters and it is attached to skin with a disposable ECG pad.
