Health companies from Oulu at a buzzing edition of HETT Show in London

In the face of new challenges in the healthcare sector, developing requirements, and restructuring of local systems, it’s vital to bring together members of the digital health community to discuss new ways of delivering better patient experience and operational efficiencies through education and networking opportunities. On 26th and 27th September 2023, thousands of delegates met at HETT Show at the ExCeL London for 2-days of educational sessions, interactive activities, exhibition, and networking opportunities. OuluHealth joined the event together with four Oulu-based healthtech companies to strengthen Oulu’s reputation as a forerunner in digital health.

Healthcare excellence achieved through technology

Over 4,500 attendees, including representatives of NHS teams, health technology companies, finance directors, transformation leads, and other senior executives arrived in London to enjoy 50 hours of CPD-certified streams featuring 200+ expert speakers, join workshops, panel discussions, case studies, and interactive breakout sessions. They learnt about digital health innovations, networked with the broadest and most influential audiences across digital health, and explored new collaboration opportunities. The HETT Show agenda featured leaders from across the health and social care ecosystem including Amanda Begley, Interim Director of Digital Transformation at Health Innovation Network, James Buchan, Senior Fellow from Health Foundation, Sonia Patel, System CIO at NHS England Transformation Directorate.

The topics discussed included digital health, data, AI, and cyber security. The participants reflected on how to give patients more control over their health and build a more personalised, integrated, technology and innovation-enabled health system, which tackles the challenges healthcare faces, such as waiting times, the lack of prevention, limited resources, and shortages in the workforce. Most of the discussions led to the conclusion that these challenges can be answered with the help of the digital transformation of health and care.

Oulu’s health solutions empower the digital transition in healthcare

The participants of HETT gained insights from the intensive program and a packed exhibition floor. OuluHealth took its place among 150 exhibitors showcasing the latest technology. The main goal was to support Oulu’s health technology companies in gaining international exposure and establishing new business opportunities. It was also an excellent opportunity to elevate the OuluHealth ecosystem’s brand. The OuluHealth stand hosted four Oulu-based companies: Peili Vision, NE Device SW, 9Solutions and Medanets.  The companies engaged in meaningful conversation and took the benefit of active networking through the HETT Connect platform.

‘We didn’t know much what to expect but there are more clients at the event than we thought. We have got some new business leads but it is all about increasing our visibility, so the event is worth coming to. The idea of a joint stand is good. We can focus on talking to the people and the OuluHealth team has arranged the rest. Without OuluHealth’s support, it would be too much risk’, said Stefan Sjögren, Global Sales Director at Medanets.

I am pleasantly surprised that there are a lot of clinical people attending this event and many other health companies. I am very happy with the organisation and the opportunity of joining the OuluHealth stand. The event is quite high profile, and I am glad to see so many visitors to the stand’, added Moyeen Ahmad, CEO of NE Device SW.

Innovating through collaboration is something that Oulu has been really good at. Being part of HETT Show enabled new connections that drive innovation across different areas of health and social care. It was an excellent opportunity to let the international audience know how health innovations developed in Oulu can address the pressing needs of health and care.
