Hannover Deep Dive – Digital Health Talk 2021: DiGA – a journey to implement health apps on prescription

Since October 2020, selected health apps are available in Germany on prescription, meaning that statutory health insurers will reimburse the costs under certain conditions. These reimbursable apps are called digital health apps – DiGA for short. They open up new digital opportunities in healthcare for around 73 million patients in Germany. People can manage their own health independently of appointments with doctors or therapists.

DiGAs are available on prescription, having first been tested to determine whether they can assist in detecting, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of disease – for example, by reminding patients to take their medication, providing information about the disease or documenting symptoms for a doctor’s visit. The mobile applications for accompaniment and support during illnesses must have successfully passed a testing procedure to be listed in the DiGA directory of the German Federal Office for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM).

During the webinar, you will learn about DiGAs on prescription, the application process and the possibilities to dive into the German healthcare market. Be there on May 28 at 10 a.m.!
