Business Finland Trade Mission to Thailand

Business Finland and the Embassy of Finland in Bangkok organize the AgeTech Trade Mission to Thailand, taking place between November 28th and 30th, 2023.

Thailand is among the fastest-aging societies in the world and is one of the world’s leading hubs for medical tourism, as well as one of the favorite destinations for foreign retirees. Moreover, the digital health sector in the start-up ecosystem is vibrant. The AgeTech Trade Mission to Thailand offers a good opportunity for speeches, face-to-face meetings, and networking.

Time: November 28th – 30th

Place: Thailand

Registration: Business Finland

Register no later than the 13th of October!

Thailand is one of the fastest aging societies in the world – 20% of its nearly 70 million population are now over 60 years old, and in little over 10 years’ time this is expected to reach 30%. Thailand is also regarded as one of the world’s leading hubs for medical tourism, as well as one of the favorite destinations for foreign retirees.

Thailand has an extremely strong private sector, competing with their world-class hospitals and ‘world’s leading specialty clinics’. As an example, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) with its 50+ hospitals in Thailand, is regarded among the 4 largest hospital groups in the world by market capitalization value. As a new trend, these private medical/healthcare providers are starting to link with leading hotel chains to offer wellness services for tourists.

The Thai public sector can also offer interesting opportunities for Finnish solutions, especially leading University Hospitals, with their medical innovation and geriatric excellence centers, as well as various pilot projects for senior care services. Soon-to-be-open ACAI (ASEAN Center for Active Aging and Innovation), and the Center at the Public Health Ministry compound could also offer interesting collaboration opportunities.

In addition, Thailand’s start-up ecosystem, especially in the digital health sector, is very vibrant and interested in collaborations with foreigners.

The visit is a great opportunity for speeches, face-to-face meetings, and networking.

Who should attend?

This visit is for the Finnish companies offering services, products, and innovations, especially for the senior sector. Companies with AgeTech solutions and services for Private – Public partnership and research could benefit from the visit.

To cover the expenses, a participation fee is charged.
