Turku University Hospital piloted the Medanets Patient Card

Oulu-based Medanets’ Patient Card was piloted at the Turku University Hospital. The purpose of the pilot was to assess the solution’s impact on nursing workflows and patient care.
The successful pilot came with positive feedback, with one nurse highlighting that the Patient Card is a handy tool to look up diagnoses and risk information while being next to the patient or when administering their medication.
According to Ville Jalo, from the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland/Varisnais-Suomen hyvinvointinalue, the Patient Card’s full potential is realized when risk information and diagnoses are kept up-to-date in the EHR and when phones are equipped with SIM cards for direct calling.
Following the pilot, the Turku University Hospital made the decision to implement the Patient Card across all its service units. Future integration with the laboratory system is expected to further enhance its usability.
