Apply with Your Busi­ness Idea to the OYS­TER Pre-incu­ba­tor 

Do you have a busi­ness idea relat­ed to the health or life sci­ence sec­tors? The appli­ca­tion peri­od for the free pre-incu­ba­tion phase of the OYS­TER Incu­ba­tor has now begun, with ini­tial selec­tion deci­sions sched­uled for June. A 100-day pre-incu­ba­tion pro­gram designed to val­i­date your busi­ness idea will start in Sep­tem­ber. 

The OYS­TER Incu­ba­tor pre-incu­ba­tion pro­gram is once again set to be imple­ment­ed in Fall 2025. This pro­gram is specif­i­cal­ly intend­ed for emerg­ing entre­pre­neurs, researchers, stu­dents, and pro­fes­sion­als who are address­ing chal­lenges in dig­i­tal health, health tech­nol­o­gy, and well­ness. Appli­cants are expect­ed to have already iden­ti­fied a busi­ness oppor­tu­ni­ty with­in these fields that has the poten­tial to scale. Appli­ca­tions can be sub­mit­ted either indi­vid­u­al­ly or as a team. 

What Does Par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Pre-incu­ba­tor Entail? 

The OYS­TER pre-incu­ba­tion pro­gram lasts for 100 days, run­ning from ear­ly Sep­tem­ber until mid-Decem­ber 2025. Its pri­ma­ry objec­tive is to val­i­date your busi­ness idea. The train­ing pro­gram cov­ers key themes such as prod­uct and busi­ness devel­op­ment, cus­tomer iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, busi­ness mod­els, reg­u­la­tions, fund­ing, and pitch­ing. In addi­tion, par­tic­i­pants will have access to a vari­ety of net­work­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties. 

Par­tic­i­pa­tion requires that at least one team mem­ber can attend ses­sions in per­son at the OYS­TER Incu­ba­tor premis­es in Oulu, locat­ed in Kon­tinkan­gas. Meet­ings will be held approx­i­mate­ly three times per month, each last­ing half a day dur­ing day­time hours. 

Each team par­tic­i­pat­ing in the pre-incu­ba­tor will be assigned a men­tor. To sup­port the learn­ing process, par­tic­i­pants will also have access to our com­mon How­space plat­form, where they can review the con­tent from the incu­ba­tion ses­sions. 

Please note that the pri­ma­ry lan­guage of the pre-incu­ba­tor is Eng­lish.
