Innokas Pow­ers Inno­va­tion in Remote Asth­ma Care with Orla DTx Col­lab­o­ra­tion

Innokas was select­ed by Orla DTx Oy to design and devel­op a med­ical-grade soft­ware library that enhances remote asth­ma mon­i­tor­ing, fur­ther solid­i­fy­ing its role as a trust­ed part­ner in dig­i­tal health inno­va­tion.

Orla DTx, a for­ward-think­ing com­pa­ny spe­cial­iz­ing in remote asth­ma care, part­nered with Innokas to mod­ern­ize its peak expi­ra­to­ry flow (PEF) mon­i­tor­ing solu­tion. The joint effort focused on refin­ing their exist­ing dig­i­tal prod­uct to meet the strin­gent require­ments of the EU Med­ical Device Reg­u­la­tion (MDR), with the goal of cer­ti­fy­ing the solu­tion as a Class IIa med­ical device soft­ware (MDSW).

To com­ply with MDR stan­dards and strength­en the scal­a­bil­i­ty of their plat­form, Orla DTx sought to iso­late the med­ical func­tion­al­i­ty into a stand­alone soft­ware library. Innokas stepped in to lead the design and devel­op­ment of this com­po­nent, ensur­ing it met reg­u­la­to­ry and qual­i­ty stan­dards while seam­less­ly inte­grat­ing into Orla DTx’s exist­ing .NET-based archi­tec­ture.

The col­lab­o­ra­tion brought togeth­er deep tech­ni­cal exper­tise and a rig­or­ous qual­i­ty-first approach. Work­ing with­in Orla DTx’s Qual­i­ty Man­age­ment Sys­tem (QMS), the Innokas team imple­ment­ed a mod­ern tech­nol­o­gy stack tai­lored to meet reg­u­la­to­ry demands while enhanc­ing per­for­mance and main­tain­abil­i­ty:

The result­ing soft­ware library met all com­pli­ance require­ments and was smooth­ly inte­grat­ed back into Orla DTx’s sys­tem, trans­form­ing their offer­ing into a ful­ly cer­ti­fied and future-proofed dig­i­tal med­ical solu­tion.

Orla DTx’s enhanced PEF Remote Mon­i­tor­ing prod­uct offers a smarter, dig­i­tal-first approach to asth­ma care. By stream­lin­ing PEF mea­sure­ments, it improves diag­nos­tic accu­ra­cy, sup­ports con­tin­u­ous patient-provider com­mu­ni­ca­tion, and reduces unnec­es­sary clin­i­cal vis­its, ulti­mate­ly sav­ing time, reduc­ing costs, and improv­ing out­comes for patients.
