What is the workshop about
The workshop aims to educate companies on the regulatory requirements for medical devices, specifically focusing on human factors validation testing. This testing is crucial for ensuring devices are user-friendly and achieve their intended purpose. Surprisingly, many usability testing submissions are rejected due to a lack of understanding of human factors principles.
This workshop will address this gap by providing:

- Guidance on incorporating human factors throughout the development process.
- Case studies featuring real-world examples from the medical device industry.
Speakers
- Louisa, founder of Harvey Medical, brings 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Her company’s research ensures medical devices are safe, user-friendly, and effective.
- Magda, a human factors researcher and AI specialist, will discuss the exciting possibilities of integrating AI into medical devices while optimizing human-computer and human-robot interaction.
