Orga­nized by the Dig­i­tal Health (Digi­Health) and 6G Enabled Sus­tain­able Solu­tions (6GESS) research pro­grams of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Oulu, the Nordic Con­fer­ence on Dig­i­tal Health and Wire­less Solu­tions will take place in Oulu on May 7th and 8th, 2024. Digi­Health and 6GESS com­bine mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary research activ­i­ties in med­ical fields and health sci­ences with the lat­est devel­op­ments in infor­ma­tion tech­nol­o­gy, wire­less com­mu­ni­ca­tion, health eco­nom­ics and ener­gy research.

As a city known for being at the fore­front of tech­nol­o­gy inno­va­tion, Oulu is a hub for research and devel­op­ment in the fields of dig­i­tal health and wire­less com­mu­ni­ca­tions. While elec­tron­ic health records, telemed­i­cine, and mobile health ser­vices have been in clin­i­cal use for over 25 years, there is also active research in ter­ri­to­ries such as AI, nov­el sen­sor tech­nol­o­gy, and edge com­put­ing, as well as the sci­en­tif­ic assess­ment of the impact of such inno­va­tions in real life.

The Nordic Con­fer­ence on Dig­i­tal Health and Wire­less Solu­tions invites pro­fes­sion­als, researchers, and indus­try lead­ers to dis­cuss and share insights on the lat­est devel­op­ments. Dis­cus­sions about cur­rent trends will be held with invit­ed lec­tures, as well as sub­mit­ted papers and posters. The keynotes will cov­er a wide Nordic and Inter­na­tion­al per­spec­tive to these top­ics.

The scope of themes cov­ered in the con­fer­ence can give you ample oppor­tu­ni­ty to present your work to an expert audi­ence, regard­less of your research being aimed towards tech­nol­o­gy, infor­mat­ics, med­i­cine, health sci­ences, edu­ca­tion, or eco­nom­ics.

Sub­mis­sion types: 

• Full papers: 10–19 pages includ­ing ref­er­ences
• Short papers: 4–9 pages includ­ing ref­er­ences
• 1‑page Abstracts

The accept­ed papers will be pub­lished in an indexed book in the inter­na­tion­al Springer CCIS series. More infor­ma­tion about the sub­mis­sions can be found here.

The event will also fos­ter oppor­tu­ni­ties to vis­it the com­pa­ny demos and the new premis­es of the Oulu Uni­ver­si­ty Hos­pi­tal, the future World’s Smartest Hos­pi­tal, which is under con­struc­tion as part of the OYS2030 project. Planned social events also pro­vide time for inspir­ing con­ver­sa­tions with fel­low researchers.
