Team Finland visit to Singapore and the United Arab Emirates

The Team Finland network is inviting Finnish companies to join a Team Finland visit to Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. The visit is led by Ms. Sanni Grahn-Laasonen, Minister of Social Security of Finland. It aims to provide participants with an opportunity to expand their market understanding, network with local partners and decision-makers, and explore effective market-entry strategies. Involvement in this visit also presents a significant opportunity to build and extend business networks in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.

Singapore and the United Arab Emirates are key business hubs for South East Asia and the Middle East, respectively. Both nations are seeking to expand their international partnerships to address the common challenges they face with an aging population, special needs for elderly health care, and chronic diseases. Rising middle-class demands for better care and changing lifestyles reflect in regionally new diseases like diabetes and cancer spreading rapidly.

Singapore’s healthcare system was ranked the top “Best Healthcare System” by the Legatum Institute, a think tank based in London, in 2024. This top placement signifies Singapore’s rising status on the international healthcare stage. The sector is not just a notable part of Singapore’s economy; it is also growing rapidly. The digital healthcare market is already over USD 670 million and will double by the end of 2029. Investment is increasingly being channeled into AI-driven preventive healthcare and remote monitoring.

The United Arab Emirates healthcare system has grown, with the number of hospitals and physicians doubling in the public and private sectors in the past decade. It has implemented several reforms by creating new institutions, partnerships, and policies to develop a more digitised, innovative, and comprehensive ecosystem. Dubai’s health market is worth more than USD 4.64 billion annually. Arab Health 2025 edition will bring together a global audience of over 3,800 exhibitors and 60,000 healthcare professionals from 180 countries.

In the UAE, the program includes targeted visits to Arab Health, one of the world’s largest healthcare exhibitions.
