The Cybersecure Health Tech Forum will be organized as an official side event of the Radical Health Festival in cooperation with Vertical Innovation Consultancy. The event is free of charge and does not require a ticket to the Radical Health Festival, but a separate registration is needed as there is a limited number of seats available. Time: 21 May, 2024, at 14:00–17:30 Place: Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus). Conference center room 207 (Kokoussiipi 207) Registration Key Points
  1. Threat Landscape: Cybercriminals target patient data, credit card information, and business secrets. Network traffic poses a significant risk, but physical security for medical devices in public places is equally crucial. Mobile apps accompanying these devices introduce new attack vectors.
  2. Data Breach Preparedness: Being proactive is essential. Embedding risk analysis and user education throughout the product development process helps prevent data breaches.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: The recently enforced EU Cybersecurity Act (January 2024) introduces new regulations. Existing regulations like the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) play vital roles. Additionally, upcoming regulations such as the Artificial Intelligence Act, the European Health Data Space Regulation, and the Data Act will impact medical devices’ cybersecurity requirements.
  4. Industry Standards: Beyond regulations, adhering to industry standards is crucial. Healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies often require vendors to comply with specific standards.
  5. Challenges and Solutions: The fragmented regulatory landscape outside the EU poses challenges. A data breach or non-compliance can be catastrophic, especially for smaller businesses. To address these issues, [Your Company Name] proudly offers a free educational seminar and workshop.

We will also take a look at cybersecurity not just on a national level, but also globally with examples of recent incidents. These illustrate the types of threats that exist in the health industry as digitalization expands risks on security.
