Remote healthcare service powered by Near Real already in use in Oulu

The occupational health unit has taken into use video appointment sessions between a patient and a doctor. The solution provided by Near Real has already started serving patients in Oulu.

It’s now possible to get some useful advice from a healthcare professional during a medical appointment in virtual reality. First of all, this new solution is used when there is no need for any physical examination. So it can perfectly suit a follow-up medical appointment. In this way, patients save time and effort. They don’t have to even leave the house. All they need to consult a doctor is a computer with an access to the internet, a camera, headphones and a microphone.

The video appointment sessions are available on the internet site as a part of patient self-management of health (Oulun omahoito).
