OuluHealth at the world’s centre of medical technology

OuluHealth together with three Oulu-based partners attended the “Innovation forum of medical technology” in Tuttlingen, Germany on 11 October, 2018. At a joint stand, Innokas Medical, Screentec and OuluHealth Labs presented their expertise to the local medical technology manufacturers, some of which belong to the biggest and most successful companies of their kind.

OuluHealth participated in the Innovation forum for the fourth time. The event, which was organised by BusinessOulu’s partner cluster, MedicalMountains in Tuttlingen, for the 10th time, is very well- known among medical technology manufacturers in southern Germany. It gathers around 300 attendees of CEO’s and decision-makers. Tuttlingen has a reputation of having a huge amount of high-class manufacturers of surgical instruments, endoscopes and implants, most in the size of SME’s.

The forum itself combined business and science. This year, the program included new ideas, projects and research results as well as high degree applications and company presentations at stands located in the lobby of the hall.

‘The forum was a great place to meet the scientific community in southern Germany. There were many potential R&D partners and interesting presentations on a wide array of high tech subjects. We didn’t get new clients out of the event, but we did find potential suppliers and partners for new technologies,’ said Roelof C.W. Aalpoel, Sales Representative at Screentec.

‘While we had expected meeting more potential customers, we got several pointers from other participants to potential projects for us. Adding to that inspiring keynotes, this time about human health in space, and ample opportunity to deep discussions with speakers, we will return,’ added Jan Pauve, Business Development Director at Innokas Medical.

At the Oulu stand, the participating enterprises constructed a modern experience around smart wearables, mobile sensors, testing environments and expertise to bring digitalisation into traditional surgical equipment.

‘We are happy to welcome companies from Oulu here. The presented technologies are very different from ours and complementary to the businesses here so they make the event be even more valuable,’ commented Britta Norwat, Project Manager at MedicalMountains.

OuluHealth will participate in the innovation forum in October 2019 again.
