Finnadvance to win the finals of the Tech Start-up 2019 Award

Finnadvance, an Oulu-based life science start-up that develops microfluidic devices for in-vitro microvascular network generation, presented their solution and took home the Tech Start-up 2019 Reward. The company spoke about their game-changing innovation live on stage in Cologne on October 30, 2019.

The Tech Start-up 2019 Award received over 260 submissions from around the globe that were evaluated by a panel of international tech experts and investors. Then the jury selected top finalists based on the level of innovation, business potential, and marketability of their solutions. All the participating start-ups presented their solutions in front of great speakers such as Sir Richard Branson, Tim Berners-Lee, Jimmy Wales and more, at the world’s leading innovation event in Cologne. The pitching resulted in Finnadvance taking home the trophy.

‘I am happy, but not surprised. A lot of startups are recycling the same ideas and adding fancy words like ML and AI. We use these technologies but never mention it, since a keen-eyed person would notice it anyway so it was about time that we were recognized. This is what this award shows. Our pitch was the simplest but we had the most straightforward idea, and the right technology to it,’ commented Prateek Singh, CEO at Finnadvance.

The winners are granted a free stand at the StartupCon 2020 and access to extended network of tech leaders, potential investors and business partners. Moreover, they will benefit from the 11th IoT/WT Innovation World Cup® prizes worth over +500.000 USD, a comprehensive innovation environment and the knowledge base to boost their development.

‘We are immediately being contacted by a lot of international investors. I am already invited to all sorts of events. In the next three weeks I will speak in five different countries,’ concluded Singh.
