Health technology innovations tested during Oulu Dance Hack

Oulu Dance Hack is an annual research and performance event that combines new technology and the moving body, bringing together dance, media as well as artists. In August 2018, there will be a particular focus on health technology and the theme: Body Interface.

Time: 22 – 24 August
Place: Oulu

Why to participate?

Oulu Dance Hack will be organized for the third time by TaikaBox and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (OAMK) to bring together art, industry and education in a unique way. Artists travel from all over the world to Oulu in order to create new work that integrates dance and technology. Local industries provide their products giving the artists an opportunity to work with new technologies and adapt them to a performance context.

The local companies are offered unique opportunities to raise their public profile. This will be supported with  international press releases before and after the event. The companies will also have access to the video and photographic materials, which will add an interesting visual context to marketing their innovations.

Oulu, the capital of Northern Scandinavia, is proud to incubate a rich environment of technological innovation. The city is currently preparing to apply for the prestigious European Capital of Culture 2026, with a focus on the integration of new technologies, arts and culture. Therefore, the inherent increase in media attention is an opportunity not to be missed.
